in the Modulgalerie, Nürnberg
26 March - 26 June 2022

The focal point of the exhibition is a body of work consisting of objects that were lost, found a new use, and then transformed into art. The works installed in the modern locker gallery in the center of Nuremberg, as it were in a chamber of curiosities, raise questions for the visitors: What is the story behind the objects? Who were they linked to before they were split? And what is the meaning conveyed in them today?

In its sculptural and painterly implementation, the Polish artist collective HOUSE of mice deals with a long tradition of fascination with the storage and exhibition of precious rarities. What does it mean to collect? What can be collected at all and where does this passion reach its limits? Allegorical paintings and narratives in text and audio complement the installation work.

About Modulgalerie:
Old luggage lockers in the Lorenzer Passage have been converted and given new functions. A total of 48 lockers form a coherent room in which the individual modules can be unlocked with a 1 euro coin each. After opening, visitors can decide whether the coin should be donated or received back. The exhibited works can also be purchased.

The exhibition in the Modulgalerie is curated by: Dr. Chiara Seidl and Kasia Prusik Lutz
